Indianapolis Colts safety Julian Blackmon tore his Achilles during practice Wednesday and will miss the remainder of the season, the team announced.
The second-year player tallied 34 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a forced fumble through six games of the season.
Blackmon provided an immediate impact to the Colts' secondary following his selection in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He started 14 contests during his rookie campaign and racked up 42 tackles, two interceptions, and six passes defended.
This is just the latest setback for a Colts roster that's suffered various injuries this season, including those to guard Quenton Nelson and wide receiver T.Y. Hilton.
