Colts' Hilton won't play on SNF vs. 49ers, Nelson set to return
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton will miss Sunday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers due to a quad injury, the team announced Saturday.
The Colts previously designated Hilton as questionable Friday.
However, Indianapolis' offense will receive a boost with the return of All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson. The Colts activated him from injured reserve after he missed the first three contests of his career with an ankle injury, snapping a 51-game starting streak.
Hilton made his season debut in Week 6 after sitting out with a neck ailment. He caught four passes for 80 yards in a blowout win over the Houston Texans but was hurt late in the game.
Indianapolis' wide receiver group also lost Parris Campbell to a potential season-ending foot injury in Week 6, meaning Zach Pascal and Ashton Dulin will see expanded roles behind Michael Pittman in the prime-time matchup.
Veteran Chris Reed started in Nelson's absence. The Colts said this week Reed will split time with right guard Mark Glowinski moving forward after impressing at left guard.
