Packers enter intensive COVID-19 protocols before TNF
The Green Bay Packers intensified COVID-19 protocols ahead of Thursday Night Football to guard against the fear of a spread, head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters Monday.
Earlier, Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry tested positive, likely rendering him unavailable for the upcoming contest. LaFleur said "there are potential other issues with the staff," according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky.
Under advanced protocols, everyone in the organization will take daily tests and have to wear masks in Green Bay's facility regardless of vaccination status.
LaFleur said the club conducted virtual team meetings Monday but expects to return to in-person meetings over the next two days with masks and physical distancing enforced.
The one-loss Packers will face the undefeated Arizona Cardinals to open Week 8.
