Buffalo's John R. Oishei Children's Hospital opened a new wing in honor of Josh Allen's late grandmother after receiving more than $1 million in donations from Bills fans.
Allen attended Monday's unveiling of the Patricia Allen Pediatric Recovery Wing, named after his grandmother Patricia Allen who passed away in November 2020.
"I'm so grateful to have this honor and have my grandmother memorialized like this," the Bills quarterback said. "I'm so indebted to this great community and the city of Buffalo."
Bills fans began making $17 donations to the hospital last year in memory of Allen's grandmother, leading to the creation of the Patricia Allen Fund. To date, the fund has raised more than $1.4 million.
