Report: Browns' Chubb, Felton test positive for COVID-19
Cleveland Browns running backs Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Both players are vaccinated, leaving their status for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots in question, Schefter adds. Each player would need to submit negative tests 24 hours apart to play.
After John Kelly, Chubb and Felton have become the latest tailbacks Cleveland has placed on reserve. Pro Bowl runner Kareem Hunt remains on injured reserve with a calf injury.
Chubb rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns in the Browns' 41-16 win over their AFC North rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals. The two-time Pro Bowler has rushed for 721 yards and six touchdowns while averaging six yards per carry in seven appearances this season.
Meanwhile, the club has primarily featured Felton on special teams as a punt returner.
D'Ernest Johnson remains the only healthy rusher on the roster ahead of Sunday's contest.
Chubb's status could play a vital role against the Patriots, who allow 108.9 yards per game this campaign. Cleveland enters the meeting with the NFL's second-most efficient ground game, averaging 160.2 rushing yards per contest.
