Cooper on COVID-19 list, reportedly out at least 2 games
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper will miss at least two games after testing positive for COVID-19 as an unvaccinated player, sources told ESPN's Todd Archer.
The Cowboys placed Cooper on the COVID-19 list Friday, ruling him out of Sunday's clash with the Kansas City Chiefs. He'll also have to sit out the Thanksgiving Day game against the Las Vegas Raiders next Thursday, as unvaccinated players are required to quarantine for 10 days upon testing positive.
Cooper will have a chance to return the following Thursday against the New Orleans Saints but will have to clear protocols first.
CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, and Cedrick Wilson will lead the Cowboys' passing offense into their battle with Patrick Mahomes and the high-flying Chiefs. Noah Brown and Malik Turner should see expanded roles.
Cooper is second on the team to Lamb in catches (53), receiving yards (583), and receiving touchdowns (five) after nine games this season.
The 7-2 Cowboys sit atop the NFC East after winning seven of their last eight contests, while the 6-4 Chiefs lead the AFC West following three straight victories.
