Titans' Dupree cited for misdemeanor assault against Walgreens employee

The Metro Nashville Police Department cited Tennessee Titans edge rusher Bud Dupree for misdemeanor assault Tuesday following an altercation at a local Walgreens on Sunday evening.

The incident took place hours after the Titans' victory over the Miami Dolphins. Dupree recorded one tackle in the win.

Police said a group of individuals engaged in a verbal argument with a male employee before leaving the store and re-entering with Dupree. The linebacker grabbed the employee - identified as 20-year-old Greg Butler - and his phone, prompting a physical altercation, according to the police citation.

"Due to the victim being assaulted, the defendant is being charged with assault - fear of bodily injury," read the citation.

Police ordered Dupree to report for booking in three weeks.

Dupree is in the first season of a five-year, $82.5-million contract with the Titans. Originally drafted 22nd overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2015, the 28-year-old has three sacks for the AFC South champions.
