Report: Godwin likely out for regular season with MCL sprain
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin is expected to miss the final three weeks of the regular season with an MCL sprain, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Godwin could make it back for the playoffs, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
The Buccaneers lost Godwin along with fellow wide receiver Mike Evans and running back Leonard Fournette to injuries on Sunday Night Football versus the New Orleans Saints. Evans and Fournette suffered hamstring injuries, but neither should miss significant time, reports Rapoport.
Godwin was hurt on a low - but legal - hit from P.J. Williams while attempting to make a catch over the middle of the field. He eventually left the field under his own power.
Godwin leads the Buccaneers with 1,103 receiving yards to go with five touchdowns. He exits the lineup around the same time Tampa Bay is reinstating wideout Antonio Brown, who served a three-game suspension for violating the NFL's COVID-19 protocols.
