NFL dominates most-watched broadcasts of 2021
The NFL remained as popular as ever among television viewers in 2021.
NFL games accounted for nine of the top 10 and 75 of the top 100 most-watched telecasts in the United States last year, according to Austin Kapp of Sports Business Journal.
Super Bowl LV between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs was the most-watched program overall, drawing 91.63 million viewers. Rounding out the top five were the NFC Championship Game (44.77M), AFC Championship Game (41.85M), Las Vegas Raiders-Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day matchup (37.84M), and Buccaneers-New Orleans Saints NFC divisional-round game (35.46M).
Other sports telecasts to crack the top 100 included 11 events from the Tokyo Olympics, seven college football games, and two NCAA men's March Madness matchups. CBS' "The Equalizer" was the only scripted TV show to make the list.
