Ravens trade 'Hollywood' Brown, 3rd-rounder to Cardinals for 23rd pick
The Baltimore Ravens traded wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and a third-round pick (No. 100 overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft to the Arizona Cardinals for the 23rd overall pick.
Brown is coming off his first career 1,000-yard season. He operated as a vertical threat throughout his three campaigns in Baltimore after the team drafted him 25th overall in 2019 with the hopes that he'd develop into an elite playmaker.
The Cardinals will add Brown to a receiving corps featuring DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green, and Rondale Moore. Hopkins, a perennial Pro Bowler, is coming off an injury-plagued season, while Green and Moore are entering their second campaigns in Arizona. Green recorded 848 yards for the Cardinals last year, while Moore posted 435 yards as a rookie.
Brown's production gradually grew over his three seasons in Baltimore. He debuted with a 584-yard campaign in 2019, posted 769 yards in 2020, and broke through with 1,008 yards in 2021.
The Oklahoma product will reunite with his college quarterback, Kyler Murray, in Arizona.
"Kyler has wanted 'Hollywood' Brown for a couple years, and he's as happy as I've ever seen him," Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Thursday night on "The Pat McAfee Show."
Murray has appeared disgruntled with the Cardinals over the offseason but publicly insists that he's content in Arizona.
The Ravens wound up trading down two spots from No. 23, and they selected center Tyler Linderbaum out of Iowa.
