Chiefs fans donate over $100K to Buffalo children's hospital
Kansas City Chiefs fans are taking a page out of the Bills Mafia playbook and showing their generosity following the team's divisional-round win.
Buffalo's John R. Oishei Children's Hospital announced Wednesday morning that Chiefs fans have donated more than $100,000 to its Patricia Allen Fund, which is named after the late grandmother of Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Many of the donations are being made in increments of $13, a reference to the 13 seconds it took for the Chiefs to tie the Bills on Sunday and send the game to overtime.
The Patricia Allen Fund was launched in 2020 after Bills fans began making $17 donations to the Oishei Children's Hospital to honor Allen's grandmother after she passed away at the age of 80. The hospital unveiled a recovery wing named after Patricia Allen last year.
