McVay's fiancee confirms Rams coach not retiring
Head coach Sean McVay is apparently not ready to walk away from the NFL following the Los Angeles Rams' Super Bowl LVI victory.
McVay's fiancee Veronika Khomyn posted a photo on Instagram with the message, "And no. He is NOT retiring," via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 36-year-old was noncommittal about returning to the club for a sixth season. In the lead-up to the big game, McVay said he would like to prioritize his family over his career going forward.
When asked about his coaching future after Los Angeles' championship win, he responded, "We'll see."
However, McVay noted that he still loves coaching and being surrounded by great players. During the Rams' Super Bowl parade on Wednesday, he even appeared to convince All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald - who is also pondering his future - to "run it back" for another year.
Based on his energy and enthusiasm during the club's Super Bowl celebrations, L.A.'s COO Kevin Demoff believes the bench boss is leaning toward returning to the sideline.
"You saw Sean on stage today," Demoff said, according to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez. "He's ready to go defend our title."
McVay, the youngest coach to win a Super Bowl, has tallied a 55-26 record since taking over the position in 2017.
