Report: Rams, Beckham share mutual interest in deal for 2022
The Los Angeles Rams and Odell Beckham Jr. are looking to run it back together.
There's mutual interest between the reigning Super Bowl champions and the free-agent wide receiver to get a deal done for the 2022 season, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Beckham suffered a torn ACL in the Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals and will likely be sidelined until November, according to Rapoport.
The Rams previously expressed a desire to retain their entire championship core moving forward, including Beckham and free agent Von Miller.
Head coach Sean McVay reiterated Thursday his desire to keep Beckham, who joined the team midseason following his release from the Cleveland Browns.
"I really love him, I cherish our relationship that we were able to establish and develop, and I'm hopeful that there will be many more years working together," McVay said on Sirius XM's Mad Dog Sports Radio.
Beckham looked rejuvenated in L.A., racking up 305 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season before producing 288 yards and two scores during the postseason run to a title.
He would've likely earned a long-term contract based on his return to form, but it appears a short-term deal is in the cards following his injury and amid a competitive free-agent wide receiver market.
