Report: Chargers showing interest in J.C. Jackson
The Los Angeles Chargers are expected to be heavily involved in discussions to sign cornerback J.C. Jackson, reports NFL Network's Mike Giardi.
Jackson, 26, is set to hit unrestricted free agency after the New England Patriots opted not to use the franchise tag on him earlier this month.
The Pro Bowler tallied 58 tackles, 23 passes defended, and eight interceptions last season. Jackson emerged as the Patriots' top cornerback following Stephon Gilmore's departure.
Jackson corralled 25 interceptions over four seasons with New England.
The Chargers are aiming to make another big splash after reportedly acquiring Khalil Mack in a trade with the Chicago Bears, pending a physical.
The AFC West club is attempting to bolster a secondary that features Asante Samuel Jr. and Derwin James. Veteran Chris Harris is set to become a free agent after two seasons with the franchise.
