Jets signing D.J. Reed to 3-year, $33M contract
The New York Jets are signing free-agent cornerback D.J. Reed, his agent told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The former Seattle Seahawks defensive back agreed to a three-year, $33-million contract.
The 25-year-old racked up 78 tackles and 10 passes defended last season and hauled in four interceptions over two years with the Seahawks.
Reed spent his first two NFL seasons as a member of the San Francisco 49ers. He now reunites with his former defensive coordinator and current Jets head coach Robert Saleh.
New York also signed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Jordan Whitehead to a two-year, $14.5-million contract, his agent told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The Jets have been among the more active clubs in free agency, reportedly adding guard Laken Tomlinson and tight end C.J. Uzomah. The AFC East club also announced they re-signed safety Lamarcus Joyner.
