The Seattle Seahawks are looking to add a veteran starting quarterback after trading Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, a league source told Josina Anderson of CBS Sports HQ.

The Seahawks contacted the Atlanta Falcons regarding Matt Ryan's availability and the Cleveland Browns about Baker Mayfield, Anderson reports.

Seattle currently has quarterbacks Drew Lock and Jacob Eason signed to its roster.

The Seahawks reportedly recently discussed acquiring Mayfield. The 2018 first overall pick requested a trade from Cleveland on Thursday before the team landed quarterback Deshaun Watson.

The Falcons and New Orleans Saints were also reportedly finalists to acquire Watson.

Ryan spent the past 14 seasons with the Falcons after the franchise selected him with the third overall pick in 2008. However, the 2016 MVP's time in Atlanta could be nearing its end.

The 36-year-old agreed to push his $7.5-million roster bonus due Friday to March 22 to give himself and Atlanta more time to look at trade options, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Ryan reportedly agreed last week to restructure his current deal to provide cap space for the Falcons.
