Osweiler remains on track to be the Broncos' backup quarterback this season behind Peyton Manning, the Denver Post reports.

Osweiler seemed poised to win the backup role after the Broncos decided not to bring back veteran Caleb Hanie after last season. He has continuously been described by Broncos' brass as being the quarterback of the future and is in the perfect spot right now for that by learning from Manning. However, because of Manning, Osweiler's short-term fantasy prospects are incredibly limited barring an injury to the former.
