Carroll: Seahawks content with QBs on the roster
The Seattle Seahawks are ready to roll with their current group of passers.
Head coach Pete Carroll shot down the notion that Seattle could soon shake up its quarterback room when asked by the NFL Network's Rich Eisen.
"Nothing's gonna change that quick," Carroll said Saturday. "We're really happy with the guys we've got, to see them battle, and we'll see what happens."
However, Carroll added: "You never know what's going on down the road. We're always looking."
The Seahawks didn't draft a quarterback this weekend after trading Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos earlier this offseason. General manager John Schneider said the team couldn't find the right fit.
"Continuously, throughout the draft, it just didn't fall the right way for one reason or another," he said.
Currently, Drew Lock - who Seattle acquired in exchange for Wilson - is expected to compete with Geno Smith for the Seahawks' signal-calling duties.
"Right now, really excited about seeing these guys for the first time, and we'll see what happens in the time to come," Carroll said.
Seattle used five of its nine draft picks on offensive prospects, including offensive tackle Charles Cross. While the Seahawks didn't select a passer, they did sign Levi Lewis as an undrafted free agent.
