The Cowboys' new offense under new play-caller Bill Callahan has yet to feature a fullback, Vickers' position, during the team's minicamps, and instead has leaned more heavily on tight ends in an H-back role, Bryan Broddeus of DallasCowboys.com reports.
With second-round pick Gavin Escobar now in the fold, plus second-year tight end James Hanna, it makes sense that the Cowboys would find ways to work them into the lineup alongside Jason Witten, but that wouldn't seem to leave a lot of snaps for Vickers once he recovers from back surgery. It wouldn't be a huge shock to see Vickers become a cap casualty at some point.
