Bears trade Robert Quinn to Eagles
The Chicago Bears agreed to trade defensive end Robert Quinn to the Philadelphia Eagles for a fourth-round pick, the teams announced Wednesday.
Chicago will pick up most of Quinn's remaining salary, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The pass-rusher has a salary of $12.8 million this season on a deal with two years remaining beyond 2022, per Spotrac.
Quinn has been rumored to be a trade candidate since the rebuilding Bears traded Khalil Mack to the Los Angeles Chargers in the offseason. However, the veteran has consistently said he hoped to stay in Chicago.
The 32-year-old joins an Eagles team that has yet to lose this season and is among the favorites to win the Super Bowl.
Philadelphia's pass rush was already one of the NFL's most potent units, averaging the eighth-most sacks per game (2.8). Quinn will join a formidable rotation that includes Brandon Graham, Haason Reddick, and Josh Sweat.
Quinn set the Bears' single-season sack record last season with 18.5. He has just one sack in seven appearances so far this year.
