Brady: 23rd season has me feeling more emotions than before
Following his brief retirement, and while playing in his age-45 season, Tom Brady says he's dealing with some heightened emotions during his 23rd NFL campaign.
"I'm feeling more than things in the past for some reason," the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback said on his "Let's Go!" podcast Monday.
"You know, I'm just really feeling intensely my emotions. And I feel like I always have that, but I think when you get close to the end - and I don't know exactly where I'm at with that, and there's no decision to be made, (but) it's not like I have 10 years left.
"I definitely don't have that. So, all these, I just am never gonna take for granted, you know?"
Brady announced his retirement in February but decided to return for the 2022 season just 40 days later. The 45-year-old then said in July that he's taking a "year-to-year" approach to the end of his career.
Brady had long said his goal was to play until age 45. On Sunday, reports emerged that he's expected to retire again following this season.
The future Hall of Famer became the oldest quarterback in NFL history to start a game after leading Tampa Bay to a 19-3 win Sunday over the Dallas Cowboys. Brady and the Bucs will now head to New Orleans to take on the Saints in Week 2.
