Chargers' Herbert, Allen questionable vs. Jaguars
Quarterback Justin Herbert and wide receiver Keenan Allen are listed as questionable for the Los Angeles Chargers' Week 3 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Herbert sustained a fracture to his rib cartilage in the team's 27-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last Thursday. He finished the game throwing for 334 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
The 2021 Pro Bowl passer isn't sure if he'll play Sunday. "That decision will be made Sunday," he said, according to Fernando Ramirez of the Sporting Tribune.
Herbert insisted his ribs feel good despite not practicing Friday. He was a limited participant in Wednesday's and Thursday's sessions.
Head coach Brandon Staley said backup Chase Daniel will start if Herbert is inactive Sunday, according to Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times.
Allen left the season opener after sustaining a hamstring injury. Staley said the five-time Pro Bowl wideout has a "50-50" chance of playing, per Ramirez.
The Chargers listed cornerback J.C. Jackson and center Corey Linsley as doubtful for their matchup against Jacksonville.
