Packers' Bakhtiari to make season debut vs. Bucs
Green Bay Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari is active for the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will make his season debut Sunday, the team announced.
Bakhtiari tore his ACL in December 2020 and played just one game last season.
The issue lingered throughout the offseason, requiring another surgery and ultimately forcing the veteran offensive lineman to miss the first two games of the campaign.
Former undrafted free agent Yosh Nijman started in place of Bakhtiari for Green Bay's first two games.
The 31-year-old's return represents a significant boost for a Packers offense still adjusting to losing star wide receiver Davante Adams. Bakhtiari earned five straight All-Pro nods prior to 2021.
Veteran wideout Randall Cobb, who was listed as questionable for Sunday due to an illness, is also active.
