McCaffrey back at practice, questionable vs. Cardinals
Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is listed as questionable for Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals due to a thigh injury.
McCaffrey returned to practice Friday as a limited participant after sitting out the previous two days.
Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said Friday that he's "very hopeful" McCaffrey will be good to go for Sunday.
Carolina's star running back is coming off back-to-back 100-yard rushing games for the first time since 2019.
The Panthers got their first win of the season last week against the New Orleans Saints. McCaffrey shouldered the load as he was responsible for over 35% of his team's yards on offense.
Carolina is struggling to get anything going in the passing game. The club sits 31st in total passing yards, averaging 161 yards per contest.
If McCaffrey can't play Sunday, D'Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard are expected to be the featured running backs.
