Wilson trending toward return: 'I feel great. I'm ready to rock'
After missing last week's game with a hamstring injury, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson is preparing to return against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week in London.
"I feel great. I'm ready to rock," Wilson said Wednesday when asked if he could play without any limitations, per Mike Klis of Denver 9news.
Head coach Nathaniel Hackett said Wilson is trending in the right direction to play on Sunday, according to Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports, adding that the quarterback was limited in practice on Wednesday.
Wilson worked out and stretched for four hours of the eight-hour flight to London, doing high knees in the aisle while the rest of the team was sleeping, he told Stevens.
"It's cool to play back in London again," Wilson told reporters, including Klis. "I remember the last time I got to play here, it was pretty special. The environment is amazing; it's world-class. I'm excited to get rolling again."
The Broncos are off to a 2-5 start, sitting in last place in the AFC West with the 32nd-ranked offense in points per game.
"Storms don't always last, and this one's not going to last because we're going to work our tails off to work through it," Wilson said, according to Andrew Mason of 104.3 TheFan.
Brett Rypien filled in for Wilson last week, completing 24 passes for 225 yards in the Broncos' loss to the New York Jets.
