Chiefs' Reid: Toney is 'healthy,' should learn offense 'relatively fast'
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed Monday that wide receiver Kadarius Toney is healthy, according to Nate Taylor of The Athletic.
Reid added that the team's looking forward to getting Toney in the mix, but it will be a gradual process, according to team reporter Matt McMullen.
"I'm not expecting him to learn the whole offense," Reid added, according to Taylor. "I'm sure he'll pick it up relatively fast."
The Chiefs have done a great job spreading the ball around this season, as four players have at least 25 targets.
"We've got one football, and we've got a few guys that we'd like to get the ball to," Reid said, according to Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com.
It's no secret that Toney is dangerous with the ball in his hands, which can help on special teams. The 23-year-old returned four punts and kicks for the New York Giants in 2021.
"We know he has that potential … we'll just see how that goes," Reid said when asked about using Toney as a return man, according to Derrick.
The Chiefs acquired Toney on Oct. 27th from the Giants for a third- and sixth-round pick. He is set to make his Chiefs debut on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
