Cam Newton is confident he could outplay any quarterback in the NFC South this season.

While appearing on the "I Am Athlete" tour, the 33-year-old free agent was asked by retired wide receiver Brandon Marshall if he stands by the comment he made earlier this year that there aren't 32 quarterbacks better than him.

"There ain't a motherfucker really, like, I mean, shit, we can say the whole NFC South goddamn. 'Cause, shit," Newton responded. "Lemme stop."

Newton has been out of the NFL this season after appearing in eight games with the Carolina Panthers last year, his second stint with the team. He completed 54.8% of his passes for 684 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions in those eight appearances.

The Panthers recently parted ways with quarterback Baker Mayfield after a disappointing stint and have since turned to Sam Darnold as their starter. The Atlanta Falcons are also set to make a change at quarterback, reportedly benching Marcus Mariota after 13 starts and replacing him with rookie Desmond Ridder.

The New Orleans Saints have had their share of struggles this season with Andy Dalton and Jameis Winston under center, while Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are sitting at 6-6 after tying for a league-best 13-4 record last season.
