Chris Jones: 'My whole offseason was dedicated' to AFC title game

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones reflected on his dominant performance after the AFC Championship game.

"My whole offseason was dedicated to this game," Jones said, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com.

Jones recorded his first career postseason sack in the first quarter, and was able to create constant pressure on Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow throughout the game.

The 28-year-old Jones finished with four tackles, two sacks, and five quarterback hits.

"He's so good. He makes it so hard on you," Burrow said, according to Patra. "You have to give them credit, they had a really good rush plan. They let their big-time pass rushers go to work."

Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo trusted Jones rushing from the outside, and the decision paid off. Late in the fourth quarter, Jones blew by Bengals right tackle Hakeem Adeniji for a sack. That play opened the door for the Chiefs' game-winning drive.

"He set the tone," Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark said, per Patra. "He finished the game."

Jones had 15.5 sacks in 17 games this season, which led all defensive tackles.
