Raiders' Adams teases reunion with former teammate Rodgers
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams hinted Thursday at a possible reunion with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Responding to a tweet asking which neighborhood Rodgers will move to, Adams wrote, "Mine."
Rodgers is still weighing his options on what he will do for the 2023 season. He has to decide if he wants to play or retire, then choose whether to stay in Green Bay or request a trade.
The 39-year-old said a decision is still a couple of weeks away.
"It's going to be a little more time for my decision," Rodgers said Tuesday during his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show." He added: "I feel confident that in a couple of weeks, I’ll feel definitely more strongly about one of the two decisions."
Derek Carr bid farewell to Raider Nation on Jan. 12 after spending his entire nine-year career with the organization. Carr is still under contract with the team but is expected to be released or traded before his $40.4-million salary for the next two seasons becomes fully guaranteed.
With Carr's departure inevitable, Chase Garbers is the only other quarterback on the roster. The Raiders are slated to have about $19.8 million in cap space for 2023, according to Over The Cap, and hold the seventh pick in the upcoming draft.
Adams and Rodgers were teammates in Green Bay from 2014-21, becoming one of the best quarterback/wide receiver duos of all time.
