The Arizona Cardinals intend to release defensive coordinator Vance Joseph from his contract, according to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports.

Joseph is set to interview with the Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles for their defensive coordinator vacancies, according to Mike Klis of Denver 9News.

The 50-year-old Joseph was the Cardinals' defensive coordinator for the last four seasons. His release comes two days after Arizona hired former Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon as its new head coach.

The Broncos have interviewed ex-Saints co-defensive coordinator Kris Richard and Rex Ryan for the role, while Joseph would be the Eagles' first interview.

The Cardinals finished 31st in points per game allowed in 2022 but dealt with a rash of injuries defensively. Arizona was 12th in yards per contest allowed in 2021.

Joseph was the Broncos' head coach for two seasons before landing with the Cardinals.
