Report: Eagles sign Darius Slay to 3-year, $42M extension
The Philadelphia Eagles are signing cornerback Darius Slay to a three-year, $42-million contract extension with $23 million fully guaranteed, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Slay had one year left on his deal, so the contract will keep Slay locked up through the 2025 season.
The extension comes one day after the Eagles were reportedly going to release Slay after failing to agree to terms on a deal. Slay and the Eagles stayed in contact throughout the day and were able to agree on a contract resolution.
The final year of his deal was slated to have a $26-million cap hit, according to Over The Cap.
The Eagles have now locked down their starting secondary for the foreseeable future, as James Bradberry was re-signed to a three-year, $38-million deal on Tuesday.
Slay earned his fifth Pro-Bowl selection in 2022, racking up three interceptions with 14 passes defended and 55 tackles.
