With the Saints waiving Jose Maltos, Hartley is all but assured of starting the season opener as the Saints kicker, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
The Saints brought in Maltos to compete with the veteran Hartley, but with the Saints suffering a rash of injuries to its receiving corps over the weekend, Maltos was deemed expendable.
