Panthers' Burns: Young has 'humble but I know I'm the shit' swag
Rookie quarterback Bryce Young is quickly earning the respect of his Carolina Panthers teammates.
"It's hard not to like that kid," edge rusher Brian Burns told ESPN's David Newton. "He's put quite a stamp on the locker room. He walks around with this kind of - excuse my language - 'humble but I know I'm the shit' type of swag. He's got it, but he's humble with it."
DJ Chark echoed Burns' sentiments.
"Everybody is here for (Young)," the wide receiver said. "And we believe he can take us to some really high places."
The Panthers promoted Young to the first team during organized team activities. Head coach Frank Reich described the move as the "next step" in the No. 1 pick's progression toward earning a starting role.
In his three seasons at Alabama, Young threw for 8,356 yards with 80 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
