Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes secured the No. 1 spot in the NFL Top 100 rankings, beating out Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson.

Mahomes was named the league MVP in 2022 and led the Chiefs to a win in Super Bowl LVII against the Philadelphia Eagles, earning his second career Super Bowl MVP.

The 27-year-old topped the league with 5,250 passing yards to go along with 41 touchdown passes against 12 interceptions. He led Kansas City to a 14-3 mark and the top seed in the AFC.

The annual NFL Top 100 is determined by player votes. Mahomes also took the top honor following the 2020 campaign, while Tom Brady was the league's highest-ranked athlete for the 2021 season. Quarterbacks have topped the rankings in seven of the last eight years. Mahomes joins Brady as the only player to top the list multiple times.

The Chiefs boasted three players in the top 10, with Travis Kelce and Chris Jones both joining Mahomes on the list.

Jefferson, the 2023 Offensive Player of the Year, was the top-ranked non-quarterback on the list after leading the league with 128 receptions for 1,809 yards while adding eight touchdowns.

MVP finalists Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen rounded out the top 10.

Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa was the highest-rated non-offensive player to crack the top 10. Jones and Micah Parsons joined Bosa as the defensive stars included in the rankings.
