Report: Titans' Burks suffers LCL sprain during practice
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks suffered an LCL sprain during practice Wednesday, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Burks, 23, is expected to only miss a few weeks.
The 2022 first-rounder appeared to sustain the injury after making a deep catch against Minnesota Vikings cornerback Akayleb Evans, causing him to stumble to the ground, per the Associated Press. Burks was carted off the field for further examination.
Teammates expressed immediate concern upon seeing Burks in obvious distress.
"You hate seeing that. … Hopefully, he is going to be alright," quarterback Ryan Tannehill said, per team reporter Jim Wyatt.
"He is a big part of what we do as an offense and as a team, so obviously you want everything to be OK," safety Kevin Byard added.
Burks is expected to have a bigger role on offense entering his second year in Tennessee. The Arkansas product is projected to be a key contributor alongside DeAndre Hopkins and Derrick Henry.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound wideout hauled in 33 catches for 444 yards and one touchdown as rookie in 2022.
