Seattle Seahawks rookie wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba will miss three-to-four weeks due to a wrist fracture, head coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday, according to FOX13 Seattle's Curtis Crabtree.

Smith-Njigba injured his wrist during the Seahawks' preseason matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday. The incident occurred during a second-quarter play in which he almost scored:

The 21-year-old led the team in receiving yards against the Cowboys, hauling in three catches for 58 yards. He has a combined six catches on seven targets for 83 yards in two preseason contests.

Dareke Young, Cody Thompson, Matt Landers, and Jake Bobo are behind Smith-Njigba on the Seahawks' wide receiver depth chart. D'Wayne Eskridge is suspended for the first six games of the season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

Seattle selected Smith-Njigba 20th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. He only played in three games at Ohio State last season due to injuries but dominated in 2021, recording 1,606 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on 95 catches.

The Seahawks kick off their season on Sept. 10 against the Los Angeles Rams.
