Latest Super Bowl odds: Jets tumble following Rodgers' injury
With Week 1 in the rearview, it's the perfect time to pretend like there aren't 17 more regular-season weeks to go.
Many in the media overreact to the first week's results to fill columns on their sites and segments on their shows. The betting markets are typically more measured. However, there was some notable future odds movement following Week 1.

The Jets had the largest movement, which isn't a reaction to a game but to a catastrophic injury. Every Jets fan's worst nightmare came true four snaps into Aaron Rodgers' debut when he went down with a torn Achilles, ending his season before it really started.
Twenty-four hours ago, the Jets had the fifth-best odds to win the AFC and seventh-best to win the Super Bowl at +1000 and +1600, respectively. Those have skyrocketed to +2500 and +5000, respectively.
New York is now an afterthought with Zach Wilson after being one of the season's most intriguing storylines, all in the blink of an eye.
While the Jets are seemingly out of contention, another AFC East team had an impressive Week 1 performance. The Dolphins outlasted the Chargers 36-34 in a fourth-quarter shootout. Miami's offense looked prolific behind a rejuvenated Tua Tagovailoa, who threw for 466 yards and three touchdowns.
As a result, he shot up the MVP oddsboard. The Dolphins were rewarded, too. Miami had the sixth-best odds to win the AFC before the season at +1200. The team has now leapfrogged the Jets and Ravens for the fourth-best odds at +800 after Sunday's win.
The three AFC favorites - the Chiefs, Bills, and Bengals - all lost their opener. Kansas City's odds remained unchanged. Buffalo is still the second favorite despite its odds lengthening after Josh Allen was stymied by a stout New York defense. Cincinnati moved from +500 to +700 to win the conference after putting forth a poor effort in a blowout loss to the Browns.
As for the NFC, the top contenders stand at 1-0. The 49ers' beatdown over the Steelers, despite being only slight road favorites, caught people's eyes. San Francisco's defense rendered Kenny Pickett and the Steelers' offense useless. Brock Purdy also looked poised and fully recovered from offseason elbow surgery.
Certain books saw San Francisco jump the Eagles as NFC favorites. However, theScore Bet simply shortened the gap between the two. Philadelphia moved from +250 to +275, while the 49ers went from +400 to +325. It's a small but noteworthy change.
The Eagles' Super Bowl odds didn't change, but the 49ers' odds shortened from +900 to +750.
Dallas decimated the Giants on Sunday Night Football. It remains to be seen whether that was more of an indication of Dallas' potential or the Giants' looming regression. But the Cowboys went from 14-1 to win the Super Bowl to 11-1.
Finally, the Lions knocked off the defending champion Chiefs last Thursday night, which shortened their Super Bowl odds from 22-1 to 16-1.
