Report: Tarik Cohen to sign with Panthers' practice squad
The Carolina Panthers plan to sign veteran running back Tarik Cohen to their practice squad, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Cohen, 28, has been out of the league since tearing both his ACL and MCL and sustaining a tibial plateau fracture in September 2020.
Carolina brought the 5-foot-6, 191-pound halfback in for a workout Tuesday, ESPN's Field Yates reports.
The North Carolina A&T product spent four seasons as a member of the Chicago Bears. The dynamic tailback proved to be an asset in both the rushing and passing game for the Bears from 2017-2020.
Cohen is nearly five years removed from posting 1,169 scrimmage yards and eight touchdowns in 2018, which led to a first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl nod. He also led the league with 411 punt return yards on 33 returns that season.
Carolina currently has Miles Sanders, Chuba Hubbard, and Raheem Blackshear rounding out its depth chart at tailback.
