The San Francisco 49ers have signed general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan to multi-year contracts, the team announced Friday.

The length of each extension is unknown.

The Niners have enjoyed a productive run since the pair joined the club in February 2017, winning the NFC West division twice (2019 and 2022) and making three appearances in the NFC Championship Game. They also appeared in Super Bowl LIV.

With Shanahan and Lynch at the helm, the franchise has posted a 55-46 mark over seven seasons. San Francisco has the second-most victories in the NFC since 2019. This year, the 49ers are off to a 3-0 start following their win over the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football.

Many of the Niners' core players have been drafted by Lynch since he assumed his role in the front office. All-Pros Nick Bosa, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Fred Warner highlight some of the GM's successes.
