Report: Panthers looking to trade for starting WR

The Carolina Panthers are making calls as they look to trade for a starting wide receiver, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Carolina general manager Scott Fitterer hasn't yet signaled to other teams that he's willing to trade players for draft picks despite his team's 0-3 start, Rapoport adds.

The Panthers could also look to add a safety with Xavier Woods missing time due to a hamstring injury, per Rapoport.

Carolina signed veteran wideouts Adam Thielen and D.J. Chark this offseason and drafted Jonathan Mingo in the second round to help quarterback Bryce Young.

The Panthers' air attack is off to a rough start this season, ranking 22nd in passing yards per game. Young's thrown for only 299 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in two starts.

Carolina included its 2024 first-round pick and a 2025 second-rounder in the trade with the Chicago Bears to move up in the draft and select Young. The club has six draft picks in the 2024 draft.
