Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert briefly exited Sunday's 24-17 win against the Las Vegas Raiders before returning with a splint and heavy bandages on his non-throwing hand.

Herbert was injured while being blocked by two Raiders defenders during a third-quarter interception return.

He received attention in the medical tent and re-entered the game without missing a snap, finishing the AFC West clash with 167 yards and one touchdown against one interception.

Despite his injury, Herbert helped seal the Chargers' win with a picture-perfect 51-yard pass on a third down. With a second consecutive victory, L.A. moved to 2-2.

The 25-year-old Herbert is off to a strong start this season. Entering Week 4, he had completed an NFL-high 74.4% of his passes for 939 yards and six touchdowns with zero interceptions.

The star quarterback played through a rib fracture for much of last season after suffering the injury in Week 2. He signed a five-year, $262.5-million extension in July.
