Detroit Lions cornerback Emmanuel Moseley is out for the season after an MRI confirmed he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during Sunday's win over the Carolina Panthers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and Adam Schefter of ESPN report.

Moseley was participating in his first game since sustaining the same injury in his other knee in Week 5 of last season as a member of the San Francisco 49ers. He exited that matchup after playing just two snaps.

The 26-year-old joined the Lions in March on a one-year, $4-million deal following a five-year stint in San Francisco.

A former undrafted free agent, Moseley produced 162 tackles, four interceptions, and 33 pass breakups in 45 appearances (33 starts) for the 49ers.

Jerry Jacobs, who played in the first four games while Moseley recovered from a hamstring injury, will continue in his starting role alongside Cameron Sutton.
