New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau was frustrated with his late-game drop during the team's 31-24 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night.

"Yeah, you know, it's tough," Moreau said, according to Katherine Terrell of ESPN. "In front of every man, woman and child I've ever known. It's a dark place to be. It's the National Football League. It doesn't come down to one play, but it comes down to one play.

"The team fought. The team fought as hard as we did, and it's just unacceptable. It's just pathetic."

On third down with 30 seconds remaining in the game and down by seven points, Carr threw a pass to Moreau in the back of the end zone that would have resulted in a touchdown if caught. The Louisiana native could not secure the pass, as the ball went right through his hands.

New Orleans failed to convert on the following fourth down, icing the game for the Jaguars.

"Short week, that's a lack of focus, lack of concentration. It's unacceptable," Moreau added, per Terrell.

The 26-year-old was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in the offseason. Team doctors discovered the illness during a free-agent visit with the Saints. Moreau announced in March he would be stepping away from football to battle the disease.

Moreau signed a three-year, $12 million contract with New Orleans in May after completing treatment, and he posted on social media in July that the cancer was in "full remission."

After the play, teammates came to his side to help the LSU product cope with dropping the potential game-tying pass.

"There's going to be bigger plays," Saints running back Alvin Kamara said after the game, according to Terrell. "There's going to be more plays out there. I just told him, man, he's blessed for what he's been through. That ain't nothing."

Kamara added: "I ain't worried about Fos (Moreau) not making that play. Honestly, I don't think we should be in that position right there where we're looking at that like, 'Oh man, he should've caught it.' Of course he should've caught it. He knows he should've caught it. Anybody in that position right there should've caught it. We're pros."

New Orleans struggled to move the ball in the first half, totaling 160 yards and six points and failing to take advantage of two Jacksonville fumbles.

Carr was visibly frustrated with his teammates and coaches throughout the game.

"The slow start," Carr said when asked what caused him to lash out, according to Kevin Patra of NFL Network. "I have been showing my emotions a little too much on my sleeve. I have got to kind of chill out and that's me holding myself accountable because that's not going to help anything."

Moreau finished the game with three catches for 33 yards. The 3-4 Saints will look to bounce back in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts.
