Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox was placed on injured reserve with a wrist injury, the team announced Thursday.

Knox needs surgery, and he will have to miss at least four games before he's eligible to come off IR.

The 26-year-old suffered the injury in Buffalo's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5 but was able to play in the next two games.

Knox racked up 1,104 yards and 15 touchdowns over the past two seasons. However, his role has shrunk in 2023, as he ranks sixth on the team in receiving yards with 102 while catching just one touchdown pass.

Rookie first-rounder Dalton Kincaid will likely take on an expanded role with Knox sidelined. Kincaid is coming off a career-best eight-catch, 75-yard outing in last Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots, taking his season totals to 25 catches and 193 yards.

Quintin Morris, the Bills' No. 3 tight end, will miss a second straight game Thursday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to a groin injury. As a result, Buffalo will likely promote Joel Wilson from the practice squad to back up Kincaid.
