Packers sign Gary to 4-year, $107M extension
The Green Bay Packers and linebacker Rashan Gary agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $107 million, he announced Monday.
The former first-round pick's contract has $96 million in new money on top of his 2023 salary of $10.892 million, as well as a $34.6-million signing bonus, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The deal makes Gary the fifth-highest-paid pass-rusher in the NFL in terms of new-money average salary ($24 million) behind Nick Bosa ($34 million), T.J. Watt ($28 million), Joey Bosa ($27 million), and Myles Garrett ($25 million), per Over The Cap.
Gary produced seven sacks across his first two seasons before breaking out with a 9.5-sack campaign in 2021. He was on pace to eclipse that mark in 2022 after racking up 6.5 quarterback takedowns in nine games before suffering a torn ACL.
The 25-year-old recovered in time to suit up for the start of the season and leads Green Bay with 4.5 sacks and five tackles for loss.
