The New England Patriots reportedly released quarterback Tim Tebow on Saturday, and the reaction on Twitter was priceless.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport suggested this may mark the end of Tebow's career.

Bruce Arthur of the National Post wondered if the Montreal Alouettes would be Tebow's next destination.
On the one hand, Montreal holds Tebow's rights and Anthony Calvillo's coming off a concussion. On the other hand, Tebow can't throw. Hmmm.

Then things got ridiculous.

The best tweet in the immediate Tebow aftermath came from The Classical's David Roth.
Tebow gets text simultaneous text message from Vince Young and Matt Leinart. "IT IS TIME." They convene for band practice immediately.

May we suggest this for the first song they play:
Last but certainly not least, the folks at SBNation reminded us of this classic GIF featuring Tebow and notorious Tebow defender Skip Bayless re-enacting a scene from Mel Gibson's "The Patriot".

That just about sums it up.
