Report: Browns to play Cooper vs. Jaguars, waive P.J. Walker
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper is set to play in Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Cooper was listed as questionable with a rib injury and a concussion. The team also announced that it has waived quarterback P.J. Walker and elevated Joe Flacco from the practice squad.
The 29-year-old Cooper exited the team's Week 13 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams and didn't return. He finished the contest with three catches on five targets for 34 yards.
Walker started two games for the Browns this season and entered two other contests to replace the injured starter. Head coach Kevin Stefanski demoted the signal-caller after the team signed Flacco.
Stefanski hasn't named a starter for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, but Flacco took significant first-team reps this week, and signs point to him getting the nod, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. Rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson is the other option. He's cleared concussion protocol after suffering a concussion in Week 12.
Offensive tackle Dawand Jones was initially listed as questionable but has since been downgraded to out for Week 14 due to a knee injury he suffered in practice Thursday.
