Best NFL Week 15 total bets: AFC East foes produce high-scoring affair
There are only four weeks left in the NFL regular season. Playoff races and divisional battles are heating up, with most teams still technically in the hunt.
Totals continue to be down as backup quarterbacks get reps under center throughout the league. Let's dive into our best total bets for Week 15.
Jets @ Dolphins: Over 37.5 points
The Dolphins took a brutal loss Monday night after leading by two touchdowns with three minutes to go in the fourth quarter. They should be extra motivated against a division rival this weekend as they fight for playoff seeding.
They had won three straight before last week, and their offense is still clicking. There was a noticeable drop-off, however, once Tyreek Hill left the game with an ankle injury. His status for this week is still uncertain. But even if he can't play, a week to prepare for his absence is much easier than having to adjust on the fly.
The Dolphins are averaging 31.6 points per game and could reach this total by themselves on Sunday. They hung 34 on the Jets the last time they played on Nov. 24. The Jets' offense also looked much better with Zach Wilson last week, as New York dominated the Texans 30-6.
Whether that was an anomaly or the expected norm down the stretch of the season remains to be seen, but Miami has a bottom-third scoring defense, so New York could have some offensive success for the second straight week.
Cowboys @ Bills: Over 50.5 points
This should be an offensive clinic Sunday afternoon in Buffalo between two of the NFL's hottest teams. The Bills are desperate for every win as they make a playoff push in the final weeks of the season. The Cowboys also need to win out with a brutal schedule for a better chance at the NFC's No. 1 seed and the division crown.
The Cowboys have the league's best scoring offense, and the Bills have the fifth-best. The over hits in 61% of Cowboys' games. The total could soar over this number with both offenses playing lights out.
Cardinals team total: Under 16.5 points
There's no question the Cardinals' offense has made strides with Kyler Murray under center after a disastrous start to the season. However, it's still a bottom-tier offense that'll enter the offseason with pressing questions - including ones concerning Murray's future.
While they did score 24 points against a stout Steelers defense last week, Pittsburgh's offense is so incompetent that it constantly puts its defense in difficult situations. The Cardinals have failed to score more than 16 points in three of their last five games.
They're playing the 49ers this week, unquestionably the NFL's best team. San Francisco will enter Arizona as a 12-point favorite. The 49ers have the NFL's best scoring defense, allowing 15.8 points per game to opponents. It should be a rout and a slow day for Arizona's offense.
