Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill won't play in Sunday's game against the New York Jets due to an ankle injury.

Hill will miss the Week 15 contest after being sidelined the entire week of practice. He was injured in last week's loss to the Tennessee Titans, sitting out much of the second and third quarter before returning late.

Miami allowed the star pass-catcher to decide whether to play or not as he chases a historic campaign, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Hill leads the NFL with 1,542 yards, as well as 12 touchdown receptions. He was on pace to achieve the NFL's first-ever 2,000-yard season by just 16 yards prior to the injury.

The 9-4 Dolphins are fighting for the AFC's No. 1 seed, which they ceded to the 10-3 Baltimore Ravens after the upset loss to Tennessee.

Rookie running back De'Von Achane (toe) will play against New York, while cornerback Xavien Howard (hip) and safety Jevon Holland (knees) won't suit up.
