The Chicago Bears are officially on the clock.
The Bears locked up the No. 1 selection in the 2024 NFL Draft after the Carolina Panthers secured the league's worst record with a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The 2-14 Panthers traded their top 2024 pick to Chicago to move up to first overall last season and select quarterback Bryce Young.
2021 first-round quarterback Justin Fields has shown improvement this season, but it's uncertain if that'll convince the Bears to pass up on the draft's top two passers, USC's Caleb Williams and North Carolina's Drake Maye.
Williams and Maye are widely regarded as worthy of being top-three selections.
The 7-9 Bears' own first-round pick currently sits at 10th overall.
